Mossmoss
Mossmoss is a Scottish born dj and producer with an intense interest in exploring deep dance music, a keen ear and eye for detail, and a fiery passion for all things psychedelic. An artist by nature, his wandering sets paint landscapes of light and dark patterns, textures, and strange melody. Matties inspiration draws from the organic details of existence, the tiny pieces most overlook in exchange for the big-picture rush of an ever changing modern world. His mind deeply set to explore these facets and to share his exploration in all forms to those that might look and listen. Mossmoss currently resides San Francisco and draws on The City and its colorful nightlife for constant immersive inspiration.
Christina Chatfield
Christina Chatfield is a techno and house producer and live performer based out of San Francisco, California. She is an avid user of both hardware and software in the studio, with the use of analog synthesizers giving her music a unique, organic sound that is her own. Her live sets have garnered near-unanimous praise, earning her a residency with San Francisco event producer As You Like It. Working under her own name and also the pseudonym Anitserk, she has released on Detroit label Beretta Grey, Klectik Records, and Racecar Productions.
Rich Korach
Rich Korach discovered underground electronic music in 1994, immersing himself in the underground warehouse scene in Detroit, he became an active DJ himself. Since his move to San francisco in late 2008, his performances in the Bay Area underground have caused quite the stir, resulting in a residency with promotions powerhouse As You Like It (AYLI) and a steadily increasing demand for performances. To say Rich Korach’s sound is an instant classic is understood to those who’ve become converts to his shows. His is an insatiable appetite for the unexpected, which makes watching his next move upward and onward such a joy.
David Siska
There's a select few DJs who can go deep while spanning genres and eras - still keeping the flow and the floor intact. It's rare that Dave Siska doesn't play a set like this - a tribute to his time deeply involved in Chicago's sweat-drenched loft parties and burgeoning techno club scene, and his devotion to the sounds of Detroit and its most diverse DJs. He co-hosts the Sonic Sunset radio show turned mixshow - continuing its long-standing tradition of taking in a wide swath of dance music, and through a scarcely definable but undeniable common thread, making it mean something as a unified whole.
Sassmouth
One of the fascinating creatures that our Planet houses is the ever-elusive Sassmouth. As of her ‘god particle’ label launch in early 2013, and ‘Planet Chicago’ club night launch at the legendary ‘Smartbar’ in early 2014 where she continues her Chicago residency, one can say that she is quite simply the inimitable nature/wildlife/DJ/producer. Following the similarly paramount achievement of being enlisted as a resident for the San Francisco based ‘As You Like It’ production group in early 2013, this colossal cephalopod continued to so sensibly organize each and every impromptu mix whilst covering specific genre regions and/or habitats (deep oceans, techno, Great Lakes, house, shallow seas, electro, urban rivers, experimental, etc.) until the entire Planet was magnificently represented by the most astonishing sounds you've ever experienced from the comforts of home, club, or NBFC underground party.
Mike Gushansky
Mike Gushansky has a no-gimmicks, all-killer, no-filler attitude towards music. It’s born out of organizing Don’t Panic, a series of renegade raves in the Santa Cruz forest, and coming up among the freshest and most unrelenting purveyors of underground dance music in the Bay Area – Raindance, Sunset Sound System, No Way Back, and As You Like It.
Gushansky’s attentive style defines his sound: Thoughtful, intelligent, raw, gritty, psychedelic grooves that envelop listeners by creating a gradual, unassuming vibe.
He’s establishing himself as a DJ’s DJ, a journey maker and a dancefloor pleaser, a personality well fit to play alongside Derrick Carter, Pittsburgh Track Authority, Bicep, and Mattrixxman, just to name a few artists he’s already supported. Gushansky’s timeless taste and dedication to the aesthetics of underground culture and sound have landed him a coveted spot as a resident for the San Francisco-based, superb late-night, cutting-edge master of shared experiences: As You Like It. With his recent move to Los Angeles, Gushansky builds on the foundation he laid in Northern California, and is now set to bring his love for the late-night, mixing vinyl and thirst for knowledge to dance-floors up and down the West Coast and beyond.
AYLI is everywhere. :)
